Join our dynamic team at the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services as a Family Service Specialist - Office Clerk II. In this role you will provide secretarial support to our Family Support Center Staff, gather statistical data for the Maryland Family Network, and assist in the child development classroom to support the care and education of young children ages 6 weeks - 47 months. This position will also assist with Family Support programming, orientations, and site tours of the Family Support Center
Essential Duties
- Collect and maintain data entry of Family Support Center (FSC) monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical information to our agency sponsors.
- Develop and maintain a record keeping and filing system to meet the continuous and changing needs of the FSC.
- Assist in the care, safety, and wellness of children ages 6 weeks - 47 months in the Child Development classrooms. Supervised by a Child Development Specialist, this position will model appropriate interaction with children and parents.
- Utilize computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data management tools for record keeping and correspondence.
- Works cooperatively with consultants from the Maryland Family Network, who oversees the Family Support Program.
- Has the ability to work independently as a team member. This position will do outreach and recruitment activities for the Annapolis FSC and may do other tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the Annapolis FSC.
- This position requires the ability to drive a 15 passenger van.
Required Experience
- High school diploma with at least 2 years of full-time work-related experience.
- Strong data skills, including word processing, data entry, and computer proficiency.
- Ability to drive a 15 passenger van
Preferred Qualifications
- A 90-hour certification in Early Childhood Education.
- Experience working with Toddlers and Children
- Ability to relate to people of diverse educational, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Experience in handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
