Bureau: Family Health | Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program
Full-Time County Contractual Position open to all qualified candidates. Location: 3 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401 Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Benefits: Participation in the County’s group health plan including prescription, dental, and optical, paid holidays and sick leave. Optional deferred compensation program at employee's own expense.
Job Description
Nature of Work:
Under the direction of the WIC nutritionist, conduct client interviews for WIC program eligibility and perform certifications for WIC participants per state and federal regulations. Provide WIC health and nutrition information to participants. Conduct health screening to include height, weight and hemoglobin measurements (finger sticks). Other duties as assigned. Work duties may require travel to locations throughout the county.
Education
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
Experience
One year in health or human service delivery, performing tasks such as program eligibility determination, health screening, client referral services or nutrition education.
Notes
Completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Desired Or Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in Spanish. WIC experience preferred.
