Job Description
Nature of Work:
Working with the county’s Fetal and Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) team and Child Fatality Review (CFR) team, the perinatal coordinator works to improve perinatal outcomes, reduce infant mortality rate and reduce preventable child deaths through an in-depth review and analysis of county fetal/infant and child deaths. Also provides outreach and education services targeting health care providers, women and families of infants and children.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.License or Certification:
Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Notes:
1) A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.
2) Two years of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
Perinatal experience preferred
