Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of marine systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on vessels and marine equipment to prevent failures and extend operational lifespan.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and precision measuring instruments to execute precise repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to troubleshoot complex system issues efficiently.
- Conduct heavy lifting and rigging operations safely during installation or repair projects on vessels or dockside equipment.
- Maintain detailed service records, maintenance logs, and incident reports in compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to provide exceptional customer service while explaining technical issues clearly and professionally.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician within the marine or heavy machinery industry.
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to read schematics and use testing tools such as ohmmeters,
- Mechanical knowledge of marine systems, plumbing systems, welding, soldering, and assembly processes.
- Experience with rigging, marine maintenance, fabrication techniques, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards or procedures related to marine or heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Knowledge of maintenance practices for sheet metal work and the use of precision measuring instruments for quality assurance.
- Must have a minimu of 4 years experience in field.
Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
