Toddler Teacher Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom where toddlers can explore and build independence
• Lead age-appropriate activities that encourage language, movement, creativity, problem-solving, and social-emotional development
• Support children with classroom routines, meals, diapering, toilet learning, rest time, and transitions
• Use positive guidance techniques to help toddlers express emotions, develop self-regulation, and learn appropriate social skills
• Encourage curiosity through music, art, sensory play, stories, outdoor experiences, and hands-on learning
• Observe and document children’s development and adjust classroom experiences to meet individual needs
• Communicate regularly with families about accomplishments, routines, developmental progress, and concerns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate toddler classroom
• Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers
• Maintain active supervision and protect the health, safety, and well-being of every child
• Follow required child-to-staff ratios, licensing standards, health and safety procedures, and company policies
• Implement the provided curriculum while adapting activities to meet children’s interests and developmental abilities
• Complete daily classroom documentation and communicate important information accurately
• Work collaboratively with classroom partners, center leadership, and support staff
• Participate in required training, professional development, and team meetings

Qualifications

• Must meet applicable Minnesota childcare licensing qualifications for the position (https://www.revisor.mn.gov/rules/9503.0032/) for qualifications.
• Must successfully complete all required background study and employment requirements
• Previous childcare or early childhood education experience is preferred, but we welcome candidates who are eager to learn, grow, and build a rewarding career in early childhood education
