- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.
- Review and verify billing information, ensuring accuracy of coding
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and address any issues related to medical collections.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Analyze patient accounts and follow up on outstanding balances, providing excellent customer service throughout the collection process.
- Prepare reports on billing activities, trends, and issues for management review
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on medical billing and coding.
- Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and CPT modifiers
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and its application in billing processes.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other medical billing software.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of billing.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
