Duties
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and legal guidelines
- Prepare, distribute, and document medications accurately.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition during medication rounds
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including other personal hygiene tasks
- Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding patient status, medication schedules, and any concerns related to care or safety
- Provide compassionate caregiving support tailored to individuals with developmental disabilities, or other memory impairments
Skills
- Strong knowledge of assisted living environments, residential care facilities, nursing home procedures, hospital protocols, and home care practices
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs in diverse settings such as residential care.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing skills including vital signs measurement.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and families while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely while demonstrating a caring attitude toward residents’ well-being
- Knowledge of medical records management, and medication administration best practices
