Role Description The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing tax planning, compliance, and preparation for a diverse client base, including business owners, families, trusts, and estates. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing complex tax returns, researching tax issues, interpreting tax law, and providing proactive tax strategies to optimize client outcomes. The role involves supervising and mentoring staff, managing client engagements and deadlines, and maintaining strong relationships through clear communication and responsive service. This is a full or part-time, on-site role located in Elizabethtown, KY.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in tax planning and tax compliance, with demonstrated experience advising business owners and high net worth individuals.
- Proficiency in tax preparation for individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates, including reviewing complex returns for accuracy and completeness.
- Solid knowledge of tax law and general tax principles, with the ability to research and interpret regulations and apply them to client situations.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Experience in public accounting and prior responsibility for managing client relationships and tax engagements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax concepts in clear, client-friendly terms.
- Leadership and team management experience, including coaching and developing junior staff.
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software and strong general computer skills. CCH, Ultra Tax, QBO, and Sage preferred
