What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Ann Arbor Cat Clinic?
The Ann Arbor Cat Clinic is a busy, multi doctor, AAHA accredited, full service veterinary clinic dedicated to feline only medicine. We are committed to providing the best care for our patients (and their people) and are looking for a candidate that shares our drive and ambition. We also house an onsite adoption program for stray cats and feral kittens. Therefore, a genuine fondness for felines is required
Job duties include: performing blood draws, urinalysis, taking blood pressures, restraining patients for exams and procedures, taking radiographs, assisting with ultrasounds, client education, and other standard technician duties. Candidates should be comfortable with monitoring anesthesia and assisting in surgery. There may be some reception duties as well, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking patients in and out. Light house keeping such as laundry and dishes.
Interested applicants should be dependable, enthusiastic, and excited to work with cats. We strive to keep our patients as calm and happy as possible, so experience in low stress and feline friendly handling is a bonus! Reliable transportation is a must, as is the physical ability to lift patients, lift food and litter, etc. Being able to work efficiently without much oversight, but still enjoy being part of a team is a plus. Ideal candidates will have experience in the field but we will consider new graduates as well.
This is a full or part time position and some weekend hours will be required. Scrubs are provided for all employees, as are generous pet care discounts. Full time employees are eligible for medical benefits, PTO, and a CE allowance.
