SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) assist the care team in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with Cardiopulmonary disorders in an acute care setting. An RRT administers treatments prescribed by a physician for care of patients with abnormalities In breathing or associated disease process.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

• • Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy with a minimum of an associate

degree

• • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current South Carolina State License to practice and must maintain license.
  • Must be able to complete competencies yearly and maintain knowledge base to include required education on new services and equipment.
  • Positive communication with care team and patients/family members.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS and PALS preferred but not required.

Must be able to work Independently and cope with emergent situations.
