What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Cook position at Ankeny Lil Tots Daycare & Preschool?
Ankeny Lil’ Tots is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic cook to join our team! We currently have a lead cook who will be returning to school, and we are looking for additional support.
Available Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing and cooking meals for 150 children daily
- Ensuring the kitchen is clean and organized before leaving each day
- Following the established menu and making substitutions when necessary
- Preparing mostly homemade meals while limiting processed foods
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment
- Completing CACFP paperwork

- Extremely reliable and punctual individuals, as this role is essential to our center
- Someone who enjoys working in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment
Qualifications:
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service
- Knowledge of proper food handling and kitchen safety procedures
- Familiarity with catering or large-scale meal service
- Preferred experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide
