The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced local Yoga Instructor with strong organizational, administrative, and project coordination skills to join us at the very beginning of this exciting development.

This is a unique opportunity for a yoga professional who enjoys taking initiative, coordinating activities, solving practical problems, and contributing to the establishment of a new wellness retreat.

Important: The initial part-time position involves project coordination only. Yoga teaching responsibilities will commence once our first yoga studio is completed, approved, and operational.

The selected candidate will work directly with the founder, coordinate with local contractors and authorities, and help ensure that the project progresses efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key ResponsibilitiesStage 1 – Initial Project Coordination (Part-Time)

  • Act as the founder's local project coordinator and primary point of contact for day-to-day development activities.
  • Coordinate with our appointed contractor, Earth Services, the Illinois EPA, Village of Valier, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor site preparation, environmental compliance activities, contractor progress, and development schedules.
  • Follow up on permits, approvals, inspections, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Obtain and compare contractor and supplier quotations, monitor expenditure, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate site visits, meetings, documentation, and communications among contractors and relevant parties.
  • Provide regular progress updates, photographs, expense summaries, and status reports directly to the founder.
  • Help maintain project schedules and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding activities.

Technical environmental compliance and construction work will remain the responsibility of qualified professionals. Major expenditures and contractual commitments will require the founder's approval.

Stage 2 – Initial Yoga Studio & Cabin Development

The next objective will be to coordinate the development of:

  • A yoga studio accommodating a minimum of 30 participants.
  • Associated restroom and shower facilities.
  • Parking areas, utilities, landscaping, and site access.
  • Two one-room accommodation cabins.

The selected candidate will coordinate with contractors, cabin suppliers, and relevant authorities to help complete these facilities efficiently and within approved budgets.

Once the studio is operational, responsibilities will expand to include conducting yoga classes, developing teaching schedules, organizing wellness activities, and overseeing daily studio operations.

Stage 3 – Retreat Expansion & Long-Term Career Opportunity

As the retreat develops, responsibilities may expand to include:

  • Coordinating the first phase of 20 guest accommodation cabins and associated infrastructure.
  • Conducting regular yoga classes and wellness programs.
  • Developing yoga schedules, workshops, and retreat activities.
  • Managing studio operations and participant experiences.
  • Assisting with the continued development of the wellness retreat.
  • Potentially transitioning into a full-time Yoga Instructor & Retreat Operations Manager position.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Practical experience teaching yoga to individuals or groups.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate contractors, suppliers, and local stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting, cost monitoring, scheduling, and project follow-up.
  • Comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and solving practical problems.
  • Ability to communicate remotely and provide structured progress reports to the founder.
  • Reliable transportation and availability for regular visits to the Valier project site.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred:

  • RYT 200 or higher yoga teaching certification, or equivalent recognized training.
  • Experience in project coordination, construction coordination, facility management, or business administration.
  • Previous involvement in yoga studios, wellness centers, hospitality facilities, or retreat operations.
  • Familiarity with local contractors, suppliers, and authorities in Southern Illinois.
  • Currently residing in Benton, Marion, Carbondale, West Frankfort, Mount Vernon, or surrounding communities.

Compensation & Career Growth

Initial Part-Time Employment

  • Starting compensation of $ 30 to $32 per hour.
  • Approximately 15–20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
  • Suitable for an experienced yoga instructor wishing to continue existing professional commitments during the initial development period.
  • Performance and responsibilities reviewed after 90 days.

Future Full-Time & Performance Incentives

  • Opportunity to transition into full-time employment as the yoga studio becomes operational and business requirements justify the position.
  • Potential advancement to Yoga Instructor & Retreat Operations Manager.
  • Once the yoga studio commences commercial operations, eligibility for a quarterly cash performance bonus equal to 10% of the yoga studio's defined operating profit, subject to a written incentive agreement.
  • Opportunities for increased responsibilities and long-term professional growth as the retreat expands.

The profit-linked bonus is a performance incentive and does not involve ownership or equity in the company.
