Job Summary
Provide leadership in daily operations of the clinic. Responsible for administration of business, financial and clinical functions of the practice while providing clinical oversight and support. This position is part of the leadership team at Animas Surgical Hospital and works closely with various stakeholders to effectively manage our internal medicine clinic. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ability to provide and delegate activities to staff based on operational need to deliver care in a safe and efficient manner while maximizing positive patient outcomes. Assists in the development and maintenance of physician and community relations to further the delivery of quality patient care. Hourly Rate: $22.05 - $41.91 (posted hourly range excludes overtime and bonuses which are not guaranteed)

Essential Job Functions
- Registrations
- Responsible for training and management of patient registration process to ensure accurate collection of demographic information, current insurance details, verification of benefits, required signatures, and payments.
- Clinic scheduling management.
- Accuracy of insurance information in the system and the insurance verification process.
- Provides and assists with computer and software training.
- Customer Service
- Responsible for training and management of customer services processes.
- Appropriately orients and competencies all Internal Medicine Staff Members within an allowed timeframe.
- Assists team with customer service issues. Resolves patient issues professionally and timely.
- Provides ongoing education and improvement of Customer Experience.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-value, quality care to all patient populations served.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively and cooperatively with other departments, offices, agencies, and business partners to facilitate the functions of the department and the hospital.
- Maintains community access and resources to ensure patient access to clinic services.
- Staffing
- Establishes work priorities and assists staff in resolving operational obstacles.
- Holds regular monthly staff meetings with the Internal Medicine Team.
- Holds individual meetings no less than monthly with Internal Medicine Staff Members.
- Responsible for staffing plan and monthly schedules
- Responsible for review, accuracy, and approval of timesheets and appropriately manages hospital resources including, but not limited, to overtime and shift differential.
- Assists in policy development, staff education on policy and procedure and policy enforcement.
- Promote team atmosphere through implementation of Animas Surgical Hospital core values.
- Financial Responsibilities
- Identifies and implements cost savings and best practices using various improvement methods and concepts.
- Oversight of the authorization and benefits process to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Provides education on financial policy and procedure along with updated insurance education.
- Coordinates with financial teams and billing office to communicate effectively with patients and referring offices.
- Performs regular chart and charge audits.
- Works closely with billing office while providing coding feedback to providers.
- Referral and authorization management for incoming and outgoing patient referrals
- Collaborates and engages with Western Health Care Alliance for ACO participation.
- Clinical
- Executes nursing interventions by collaborating with the interprofessional team, incorporating appropriate standards of care for practice and patient outcomes.
- Assesses and systemically collects data related to patient health status and works in collaboration with the care team to develop the plan of care.
- Evaluates patient’s response to plan of care and works in collaboration with the interprofessional team to make any needed adjustments.
- Utilizes data to continuously meet care coordination needs across settings in conjunction with the patient, family, and/or other care providers.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for effectively managing nursing care of individual patients.
- Documents nursing assessment and interventions to reflect comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.
- Assist with the management of patients with multiple chronic health conditions, acute episodes of care, and/or behavioral health challenges while promoting and supporting prevention and wellness
- Provides care that is safe, ethical, patient and family-centered, culturally congruent, and evidence-based.
- Quality and Performance Improvement
- Implements and adheres to policies and procedures, applicable regulatory standards, laws, and regulations.
- Participates in performance improvement activities which include collecting and analyzing data to identify quantifiable measures to maintain quality and the promotion of desired outcomes.
- Effective problem solving for scheduling, registrations, and finical issues.
- Leads and is responsible to ensure clinic-based teams meet and/or exceed hospital standards for patient experience and customer satisfaction.
- Participates in 80% of appropriate organizational meetings and training courses.
- Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.
- Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous quality improvement while performing day-to-day activities of the position.

Minimum Requirements
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Certification, Licensure: Current state license as a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse or current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent). Current CPR certification is required.
Experience: 2 years of experience working in a physician practice or a healthcare setting. Supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to ten (10) pounds. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, handling, and balancing five (5) or more hours per day. Sensory and communicative activities including: hearing, seeing, and speaking to be able to carry out essential job functions.
Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures
Normal office environment. Hazards are minimal if safety precautions are taken. Protective clothing/equipment is normally not necessary.

Hepatitis B- Lab evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals
