From the hit reality T.V show “The Vet Life,” CyFair Animal Hospital has a new location in the DFW area. CFAH–Addison, TX is seeking skilled Technicians.
We have an immediate need for an experienced Veterinary Technician at our Addison location. The Technician performs a variety of patient- and client-care duties, conducts patient assessments, anesthetizes patients, and performs procedures and treatments. This person understands veterinary services and can clearly convey the value of the services to the clients.
The ideal candidate will have a high standard of patient care, flexibility, excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience with the following:
Essential Duties
- Exam Room Consults
- Active knowledge of preventative meds & vaccines
- Venipunctures
- Catheter placement
- Pathology (reading slides)
- Cytology i.e., Rectal Smear; Ear Swab; Impression Smears, Skin Scrapes
- Routine Procedures and Treatments
- Medication Dispensation
- Hospitalized Patient Care
- Client/Owner Relations
Requirements
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of recent vet tech experience with increasing responsibilities.
- Ability to perform routine medical procedures (e.g., collect samples, draw blood, administer vaccines)
- Ability to maintain clear and accurate records
- Ability to properly restrain patients.
- Knowledge of commonly used veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to show empathy, respect, and compassion toward clients and patients.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects more than 40 pounds w/ assistance.
