What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at Animal Wellness Center?
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners and visitors
- Assist with the daily care and maintenance of the kennel facility
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their individual needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, runs, and common areas
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by the veterinarian or supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and activities
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with pet owners in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and performing tasks that require bending, stooping, and standing for long periods of time
