Animal Care Attendant - Cats
Duties:
- Provide daily care and maintenance for animals in a professional and compassionate manner
- Ensure the health and well-being of animals by monitoring their behavior, feeding them, and administering medications as directed
- Clean and sanitize animal enclosures, including cages, tanks, and kennels
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as needed
- Handle animals safely and securely during routine care procedures and transportation
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medical treatments, and behavioral observations
Skills:
- Proficient in animal handling techniques, including aseptic technique for medical procedures
- Knowledge of animal physiology and behavior to recognize signs of distress or illness
- Experience in dog training and handling for obedience and basic commands
- Understanding of veterinary assistant duties, such as assisting with examinations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
The applicant must meet physical requirements to include, but not limited to: bending, stooping, reaching and lifting from the ground up, lifting up to 55 pounds without assistance, standing for long periods of time and going up and down stairs.
Background screening, reliable transportation and a valid ID required.
