About us
The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF Hamptons) has been helping homeless and abandoned animals since 1974. Over the last five decades, tens of thousands of cats and dogs have received compassion, food, shelter, medical care, training, and ultimately their forever homes with new families through the committed efforts of our staff and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain kennels, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for animals
- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
- Exercise and play with animals to ensure their physical and mental stimulation
- Provide excellent customer service to pet adopters and visitors
- Administer treatments or medications as directed by the veterinarian
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic animal care and behavior
- Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods of time
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with pet owners in a professional manner
Weekends are required.
