Duties
- Greet clients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures for appointments and procedures
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing the clinic’s calendar to optimize workflow
- Handle medical billing, insurance claims, and collections with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain detailed records of patient visits, treatments, and client communications in compliance with privacy standards
- Answer phone calls promptly, providing clear information about services, appointments, and general inquiries
- Coordinate with veterinary staff to relay important patient information and follow-up instructions
- Manage inventory of clinic supplies, including pet care products, grooming items, and medical supplies
- Support kennel staff by assisting with animal husbandry tasks when needed to ensure animals are comfortable and well cared for during their stay
Requirements
- Prior experience in veterinary reception or a similar customer service role within an animal care setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet care practices
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and laboratory procedures is advantageous
- Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; experience with dog handling and animal husbandry is a plus
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques, animal anatomy, veterinary critical care practices, and laboratory procedures enhances effectiveness in this role
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with clients, team members, and external partners
- Ability to stay organized under pressure while managing multiple tasks efficiently
