Animal Medical Clinic of Fairburn is seeking a full-time Kennel Assistant who is passionate about animal care and excited to gain hands-on experience that leads to advancement as a Veterinary Assistant. Key Responsibilities
- Assist technicians and doctors during appointments, including safe pet restraint
- Participate in structured training to develop veterinary assistant skills
- Check pets in and out of boarding and review paperwork with clients
- Walk dogs multiple times daily
- Maintain clean kennels, cages, and hospital grounds
- Feed, medicate, and monitor boarding pets
- Ensure all pets have clean water and a sanitary, comfortable environment
- Bathe or clean pets as needed before going home
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and genuine love for animals
- Ability to work some holidays and weekends (short kennel shifts)
- Self-starter who works well in a team
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
- Ability to safely restrain pets, with full training and guidance provided
- Friendly, enthusiastic communication with team members and clients
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Basic computer skills
- Strong interest in growing into a veterinary assistant role
