Job Title: Pet Attendant (Animal Caretaker)
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Pet Attendant to join our Pet Care team! In this role, you will help provide daily care for cats and dogs staying with us for boarding and daycare, while also maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced position ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals and takes pride in keeping a facility running smoothly.
Schedule & Availability:
This position requires flexibility, including a combination of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-time: Approximately 20–25 hours per week
- Shift lengths may vary (4–8 hours)
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous animal care experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in a busy and sometimes noisy environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor pets for any signs of illness or discomfort and report concerns to medical staff
- Provide daily care including feeding, watering, medicating, and exercising pets
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages, and common areas
- Prepare meals, refresh bedding, and maintain litter boxes
- Bathe animals as needed
- Handle pets with a calm, patient, and reassuring approach
- Launder and restock bedding, towels, and supplies
- Accurately document details of each pet’s stay
- Perform routine facility checks and assist with general maintenance and upkeep
- Provide excellent customer service by sharing updates with pet owners
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including securing the building
- Support the team with additional tasks as needed
