Animal Medical Center of Cascades is seeking a confident, compassionate, and motivated Lead LVT / Clinical Supervisor to balance hands-on clinical care with leadership, training, and daily team coordination. What You’ll DoLead, Mentor & Inspire

· Guide and support LVTs, veterinary assistants, and clinical support staff.

· Foster teamwork, accountability, respectful communication, and a positive culture.

· Train and mentor team members; support onboarding, skills development, and performance feedback.

· Serve as a clinical resource and liaison among veterinarians, staff, and leadership.

· Assist management with scheduling input, hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.

Deliver Exceptional Patient Care

· Perform LVT duties within Virginia’s legal scope of practice and hospital policy, including anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, dental and surgical support, diagnostic imaging, medication administration, and nursing care.

· Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, procedures, and emergencies.

· Monitor hospitalized and recovering patients, recognize changes, and promptly alert the attending veterinarian.

· Advocate for patient comfort, compassionate care, and safe handling.

Keep Our Hospital Running Smoothly

· Coordinate daily technician assignments, procedure support, patient priorities, and workflow.

· Maintain communication between treatment, surgery, exam rooms, and client service.

· Support staffing coverage, inventory awareness, and organized treatment, pharmacy, laboratory, and surgical areas.

· Improve processes and help create or update checklists, SOPs, and training resources.

Champion Safety & Clinical Excellence

· Promote adherence to infection control, OSHA, controlled substance, radiation, and anesthesia safety protocols.

· Ensure timely, accurate medical records and required documentation.

· Respond professionally to urgent patient needs, client concerns, and team challenges.

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications

· Current Virginia LVT credential in good standing, or eligibility for Virginia licensure before performing duties requiring an LVT credential.

· Strong clinical nursing skills and sound judgment in a busy hospital.

· Excellent communication, organization, delegation, and problem-solving abilities.

· Compassionate, patient-focused care and commitment to professional standards.

Preferred Qualifications

· Three or more years of veterinary clinical experience.

· Previous lead technician, supervisory, or training experience.

· Strong anesthesia, dentistry, surgery, laboratory, and patient nursing experience.

· Familiarity with veterinary practice management software; ezyVet experience is a plus.

· Passion for mentoring and professional development.

Schedule & Work Environment

· Daytime business hours; occasional weekend or holiday availability based on hospital needs.

· No overnight shifts or on-call responsibilities.
