Animal Hospital of Las Cruces is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
As a Veterinary Assistant you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with gathering patient histories
- Establish and assist with carrying out treatment plans
- Perform patient diagnostics such as lab work and radiographs
- Communicate pertinent information about patient care to clients
- Maintain hospital and patient cleanliness using aseptic technique, proper protective equipment, and isolation protocol
- Frequently lift and moves patients up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds with our without reasonable accommodation
Our ideal candidate:
- Previous experience in the veterinary field required
- Exceptional communication skills
- Professional and courteous
- Able to multi-task and establish priorities
- Detail oriented
- Self-starter who likes to take ownership of your work and you proactively go the extra mile for others with a positive attitude.
- Likes a challenge, has a desire to learn and grow.
