Who we are:

The Animal Hospital of Berlin is an AAHA-accredited animal hospital dedicated to providing exceptional patient care while creating a positive environment for our clients, patients, and staff. We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality veterinary services to our clients and their pets. Our established staff truly loves their role, providing high quality, personalized care for our patients and clients. We have won best veterinarian four of the last five years and strive to provide a welcoming, friendly environment.  We are committed to helping our community, working with several rescues in the area and local animal control and police dogs.

 

As a Veterinary Assistant at the Animal Hospital of Berlin, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and delivering outstanding customer service to our clients. Good communication skills and a positive team attitude are a must.

  Veterinary Assistant Duties:

  • Assisting veterinarians and technicians in treatment areas and exam rooms.
  • Handling and restraining patients with care.
  • Assisting with laboratory procedures and sample collection.
  • Running in-house diagnostics and preparing samples to send to our reference laboratory
  • Client education
  • Basic grooming such as nail trims
  • Helping to keep all areas of the hospital clean and clutter-free

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an animal care setting or graduate of a Veterinary Assistant program
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassion and genuine love for animals.
  • We prefer candidates with veterinary experience but will train the right person.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
