VCA Ridge Road Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. Location: 3010 Ridge Road, Rockwall, TX 75032 Pay: $17 to $22 depending on experience level The schedule will include 36 to 40 hours a week. Days will vary based on hospital needs. Working hours are 7:15 to at least 6pm M-F and 7:45- at least 12 on Saturdays. Technicians rotate and help with kennels on Saturday evenings, Sundays, and holidays. We will be required to be in the rotation. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. As a member of the VCA team, your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so they will partner with us for the lifelong care of their companion animals. You’ve worked hard for your credentialing and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and entire team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to: Venipuncture catheter placement radiology anesthesia monitoring physical examinations and patient assessment surgical preparation and assisting dentistry laboratory work pharmacy patient recovery compassionate care for our hospitalized and boarding patients Assist doctors in exam room during patient appointments Maintaining medical records Must be comfortable working with all species including large dogs, cats, birds, lizards, snakes, rabbits, and other exotic pets. Must have good communication skills. Must be able to work weekends and rotate Holidays. Must be able to lift 45lbs.
