Job Summary

Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment.
- Perform animal restraint and handling using safe and humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like animal catheterization and wound management to prevent infection.
- Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery.
- Take and process X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Manage kennel duties by cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals housed on-site or in care.
- Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting cleaning or extraction processes.
- Handle animal husbandry tasks for various species including dogs and cats, demonstrating animal physiology knowledge.
Requirements
- Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology to assist effectively in clinical settings.
- Experience with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory testing is highly desirable.
- Skilled in dog handling and animal restraint techniques.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization safely while maintaining aseptic technique standards.
- Familiarity with X-ray operation, veterinary equipment maintenance, and laboratory procedures.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners on pet care needs.
