We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian/Doctor Supervisor to join our doctor leadership team. Ideal candidate will be internship-trained, team-focused, and passionate about emergency medicine with prior supervisory experience. Successful candidates must be willing to work an average of 12-14 shifts per month. We strive to provide balance for our entire team and attempt to accommodate all reasonable schedule requests, including blocks of time off for travel.
The Doctor Supervisor position is for an accomplished individual with exceptional emergency and critical care skills, who is self-motivated, a quick thinker, team oriented, and has a heart to mentor others. Good communication skills and compassion are of utmost importance. Supervisor must be proficient in all areas of emergency and critical care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the interview process of new doctor candidates.
- Assist in new doctor training, including case review.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to associate veterinarians – meeting quarterly with DVM direct reports (these can be informal meetings) to check in and assess how they are doing.
- Assist with client complaints that have a medical concern/relevance– reviewing records, discussing concerns with clients, and communicating with and mentoring the doctors involved in complaints.
- Assist in organizing and participating in CE programs for the doctors and staff – assisting in staff wet labs, staff meetings, etc.; assist in organizing M and M Rounds with Critical Consults.
- Monitor culture and provide feedback and intervention if needed. Share feedback with the appropriate partner as needed, and HR.
- Assist in rDVM outreach and provide rapid feedback to the doctors regarding rDVM concerns.
- Together with the CMO, formulate a schedule to ensure supervision is available each day for issues or call outs that may arise.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all staff and monitor dynamics amongst the teams to ensure effective, positive communication between all members.

Physical Effort: Work requires lifting, bending, standing, walking and lifting up to 50 pounds. You must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to respond appropriately to any emergency.
Working Conditions: May be exposed to chemicals, as well as exposure to animals and contagious diseases. Make sure safety is considered before the start of any task. Will be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, and animals.
Salary : $120,000 - $135,000
