Overnight Veterinary Technicians and Assistants- Emergency and Critical Care

Animal Emergency Hospital Volusia are looking for veterinary technicians and assistants to grow with us. Veterinary Assistants: Our Assistants are the backbone of our hospital. They are responsible for patient triage, administering treatments and daily patient care. We are looking for eager and motivated individuals who have at least 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital. High energy, enthusiasm and a great attitude are the keys to being a good fit for this role. This is a fast paced environment, where every situation is a learning experience. Our senior staff will provide you with opportunities to grow and expand your skills, while ensuring you are learning in a safe and comfortable environment. Our salary for Assistants starts at $18.00 an hour.

Veterinary Technicians: Whether you are a CVT, RVT or a non credentialed experienced technician, we want to provide you with a place where ALL your skills are used and appreciated. Our senior technicians are highly trusted by our veterinarians, and they are utilized to the fullest extent of their abilities. Technicians use their skills every day in surgery, CT, radiology, laboratory and of course, emergency and critical care nursing. Leadership, mentoring and training our Assistants is a critical part of the technician role, so we are looking for team players who want to share their knowledge and experience to help others grow in their career. Our salary range for non credentialed Technicians with at least 3 years of experience starts at $20 an hour. Credentialed Technicians (CVT, LVT, RVT) salaries start at $25 an hour.

We are currently looking for overnight staff. Our nursing staff works a schedule of 3 days on and 4 days off. These are 12 hour shifts. Overnight shifts are entitled to a shift differential of $2/hour for hours worked between 12am-8am.

Primary job functions include surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring, digital x-rays, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, ultrasounds, and preparing lab specimens.

You will perform a high level of nursing care and be encouraged to use ALL your technical skills.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Technician Certification preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 3-years experience as a veterinary technician required
• Veterinary Assistants must have 2 years of experience in an animal hospital setting
• Experience working in an emergency hospital setting preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a rotation of 3 on, 4 off.
• Ability to be work the over night schedule which does include weekends, and holidays
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal development
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
