Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant and a Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are a private family owned clinic. Our relationship and services to our clients and their pets is very important to us. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing exceptional animal care across a variety of species, including dogs and cats. This role involves assisting with animal handling, laboratory procedures, and clinical tasks to ensure the well-being of our patients. Prior experience in veterinary settings and animal husbandry is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by restraining animals safely using animal restraint techniques.
- Animal handling to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Perform laboratory procedures such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing using aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medications, and procedures.
- Assist with animal catheterization, X-ray procedures, and other diagnostic imaging as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness of the clinic environment by cleaning kennels, surgical areas, and equipment following infection control protocols.
- Support client communication by explaining pet care instructions using veterinary terminology in a clear manner.
- Maintain knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to assist effectively during clinical procedures.
Experience
- Prior kennel experience or pet care background is preferred.
- Experience with dog and cat handling techniques is advantageous.
- Veterinary technician experience or veterinary critical care experience is highly desirable.
- Laboratory experience or familiarity with diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging is beneficial.

Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
