Position Summary

Anima Child and Family Therapy, a private practice in Fort Collins, CO, is seeking a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to provide compassionate, developmentally informed therapy services to children, adolescents, and families in a private practice setting. Our practice specializes in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sandplay, EMDR, and depth-oriented approaches that honor each child’s inner world while supporting families in healing, growth, and greater wholeness.

Supervision and Training

Candidates will receive supervision from Heather Truschel MC, LPC, RPT-S, RSP, a child and family therapist specializing in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy and EMDR. Supervision can also be used for Registered Play Therapy credential. Supervision emphasizes clinical growth, self-awareness, ethical practice, and the development of a strong therapeutic presence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based and developmentally appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support therapeutic goals and strengthen family relationships.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and practice standards.
  • Participate in consultation, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
  • Coordinate care with schools, medical providers, and other professionals as clinically appropriate.
  • Uphold ethical standards and maintain professional licensure requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Colorado LPCC license and in good standing.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling or related mental health field.
  • Experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive, and family-centered care.

Preferred:

  • Training or experience in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, or EMDR.
  • Experience working with anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, grief, trauma, and family conflict.
  • Interest in furthering their professional development with play based approaches and credentialing.
