The Buyer Planner manages procurement and material planning activities to ensure the uninterrupted supply of materials supporting GMP-compliant manufacturing operations in a Life Sciences environment. In this role, you serve as a subject matter expert in supply planning, procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration, ensuring materials are available to support manufacturing while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
How You’ll Contribute
- Develop and maintain material requirements plans (MRP) that align supply with production schedules and customer demand.
- Source, manage, and develop supplier relationships to ensure reliable delivery of raw materials, components, and consumables while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
- Issue and manage purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and resolve delivery, quality, and supply issues to ensure continuity of operations.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to support supplier qualification, audits, documentation, and ongoing compliance activities.
- Monitor inventory levels, shelf life, lot traceability, and expiration risks while balancing inventory investment with service level objectives.
- Ensure procurement and planning activities comply with FDA, GMP, ISO, and internal quality system requirements.
- Maintain ERP/MRP master data, including lead times, safety stock levels, bills of material (BOMs), and planning parameters to support accurate production planning.
- Analyze demand trends, inventory performance, supplier metrics, and material availability to identify risks and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to support production scheduling, material releases, product launches, technology transfers, and lifecycle management activities.
- Communicate supply risks, shortages, delays, and quality concerns while developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and traceability data.
- Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and cross-functional planning activities to support business objectives.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in procurement, production planning, or supply chain within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other Life Sciences manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of GMP requirements, quality systems, and regulatory expectations related to procurement and supply chain operations.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent manufacturing planning systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships, purchase orders, and inventory planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and compliance practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting sterile manufacturing, cold chain products, controlled substances, or other highly regulated manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with validation activities, change control processes, and quality management systems.
- Experience supporting both clinical and commercial manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and advanced inventory optimization strategies.
