ASSISTANT MANAGER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
- Support the Residential Manager in advancing residential operations and organizational goals.
- Professionally represent the organization when interacting with all internal and external stakeholders (ie. employees, participant families, vocational programs, etc.) with a positive customer-service orientation.
- Coach, mentor, train, and supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSP)
- Serve as the Interdisciplinary Team Leader and advocate
- Ensure the IRA is maintained and presents a safe and home-like environment
- Work with management on all continuous quality assurance and improvement initiatives (Quality assurance audits, implementation of systems to optimize operational efficiencies, etc.)
- Role-model and perform all aspects of participant’s program plans and demonstrate techniques to residence staff.
- Complete, maintain and submit accurate records (ie. payroll, incident reports, financial ledgers, performance data regarding participants)
- Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling.
- Successfully complete and ensure that all staff receive required trainings e.g. AMAP, CPR, First Aid, etc.
- Plan, organize, facilitate and oversee individual programming, community inclusion activities, and operations..
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience providing services to people with Intellectual Disabilities in an OPWDD Certified Residential Program.
- Knowledge and experience working within OPWDD regulations
- Must have and maintain a valid Drivers License
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- A desire to continuously learn and grow.
- Associates Degree (preferably in human services, psychology or other related field)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree
- Current AMAP Certification or history of AMAP certification.
- Supervisory / leadership experience while serving people with Intellectual Disabilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
