Position Overview
The Dental Practice Administrator is responsible for overseeing all non-clinical operations of the practice, including team leadership, financial performance, patient experience, and efficient use of technology. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing a multi-doctor dental practice and deep working knowledge of Dentrix or similar practice management software.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of a multi-doctor dental practice, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow across all departments.
- Supervise and support front office, financial, and administrative teams, promoting accountability and collaboration with staffing, training, and performance reviews.
- Manage scheduling systems, patient flow, and production goals to optimize provider efficiency.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to meet financial and operational targets.
- Administer payroll, accounts receivable/payable, insurance processing, and collections in coordination with accounting and billing teams.
- Maintain and update practice policies, protocols, and compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state regulations.
- Coordinate with clinical leadership on staffing, training, and performance reviews.
- Utilize Dentrix for reporting, scheduling, and managing patient communications.
- Lead team meetings, monitor morale, and foster a positive, patient-centered culture.
- Handle vendor relationships, supply ordering, and facility maintenance coordination.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of dental office management or administrative leadership experience, preferably in a multi-doctor setting.
- Proficiency in Dentrix or similar practice management software required.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with production/collection reporting and budget management.
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of dental insurance processes and compliance regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
