Our practice is located in Angleton, TX, which is 45-minutes south of Houston.

Practice Overview
Angleton Veterinary Clinic is a small animal practice led by Dr. Sherry D. Clark. Our focus is on providing quality patient care and achieving top-notch client satisfaction. We use advanced technologies and techniques, which coupled with our team’s passion and knowledge, makes us the area leader in veterinary service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal restraint, handling, and care during examinations, treatments, and surgeries for both small and large (dogs and cats) and exotics
  • Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and maintaining a clean clinical environment
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Prepare animals for procedures by assisting with IV insertions, catheterizations, and administering medications under supervision
  • Maintain accurate record keeping of patient information, treatment plans, medication administration, and procedure documentation
  • Educate clients on proper husbandry, nutrition, and post-treatment care
  • Support surgical procedures by preparing supplies, sterilizing instruments, and assisting with post-operative care

Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Veterinary Assistant certification or completion of a related program is a plus
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly in changing situations
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and working on your feet for long periods
  • Previous kennel or animal handling experience preferred; familiarity with dog handling and animal restraint techniques essential
  • Veterinary clinic experience or internship experience highly desirable; knowledge of veterinary terminology is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with animal catheterization, medication administration, and IV insertion is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of animal behavior, physiology, anatomy, and welfare principles necessary for safe handling
  • Excellent record keeping skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet care needs
  • Experience working in a veterinary critical care setting is a valuable asset
