Angier After School Program (AASP) in Newton is hiring After School Teachers for the 26-27 School Year!
Are you an educator or artist with childcare experience looking to support elementary students in their social, emotional, and creative growth? AASP is a K-5th grade program looking for enthusiastic crafters, musicians, theater-makers, nature lovers, athletes, and educators to round out our collaborative teaching team! Experience with Children's Theater is a big plus!

Responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing student activities based around your own talents and student interest - art, theater, STEAM, nature, games, athletics, and more
- Supporting social emotional development
- Assisting with K-5 programming such as theater, floor hockey, and special events
- Supervising and participating in outdoor activities and free play
- Daily prep and clean-up
- Collaborating with other staff on calendar planning and classroom management
Requirements:
- Candidates should be reliable, creative, team-oriented, and energetic
- Must have experience working with school-age children in a childcare, camp, recreation, or school setting
- Must have a high school diploma, associate's or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must pass all background checks
Schedule:
- 2:30 - 6pm: M, Tu, Th, Fr
- 11am-6pm: Wednesdays
- We will consider candidates who are only available to work a 3 or 4 day schedule, but Wednesdays are a must
- The position is available for the 2025-2026 school year beginning August 25
- We follow the Newton Public Schools calendar (school year only)
Starting salary is $22-$23 an hour depending on education and experience. Benefits include individual health and dental coverage; 401(k) with match; paid holidays, personal, and sick time; and paid professional development.
We are offering a $250 signing bonus, which will be paid out over your first two paychecks once all background checks and required paperwork are completed.
