We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those in group home settings or receiving senior care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to foster meaningful relationships with clients.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Support clients in mobility and heavy lifting as required for their safety and comfort.
- Administer CPR and first aid as needed, maintaining a safe environment for all clients.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the living space to provide a comfortable environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in group home settings or senior care preferred.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and best practices for ADLs.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to enhancing the lives of others through dedicated service.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring client safety at all times.
- Previous experience in home care or social work is advantageous but not required.
