What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fine Jewelry Store Manager position at Angela Monaco Jewelry?
Angela Monaco Jewelry is seeking an experienced jewelry retail professional to lead the day-to-day operations of our Philadelphia store.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing leadership position for someone who enjoys managing a team, building client relationships, improving store operations, and actively contributing to sales. The Store Manager will serve as a player-coach, remaining visible on the sales floor while creating the structure, consistency, and accountability needed to help the store and its employees succeed.
The ideal candidate has experience in fine, custom, luxury, or bridal jewelry and understands the level of service, attention to detail, and follow-through jewelry clients expect.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the store’s daily operations, including opening and closing, scheduling, coverage, security, cash controls, and store readiness
- Supervise, coach, and support store employees while setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable
- Actively sell finished jewelry, engagement and wedding jewelry, permanent jewelry, repairs, special orders, and custom-jewelry services
- Build strong client relationships and support repeat business, referrals, and client follow-up
- Monitor sales activity, customer appointments, conversion, average transaction value, discounts, returns, and other store performance measures
- Help the team improve product knowledge, clienteling, discovery, storytelling, closing, and follow-up
- Partner with the Founder and marketing support to develop ideas for store events, promotions, and other revenue-generating activities
- Help coordinate and bring store activations to life within the retail environment
- Oversee inventory accuracy, receiving, tagging, pricing, transfers, counts, adjustments, consignments, and secure merchandise handling
- Coordinate customer commitments and internal handoffs involving custom jewelry, repairs, special orders, and production
- Address customer concerns and service issues professionally and promptly
- Prepare store updates for the Founder regarding sales, labor, inventory, customer matters, open orders, and operational priorities
- Identify operational gaps and recommend practical improvements
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and employee development
What We’re Looking For
- At least four years of progressive jewelry retail experience
- At least two years of experience supervising a store, department, or retail team
- Management experience in fine jewelry, custom jewelry, bridal jewelry, or another jewelry retail environment
- Jewelry-sales, gemological, or related industry training
- A successful track record of personally contributing to sales while leading store operations
- Experience coaching employees, managing schedules, handling customer escalations, and improving accountability
- Knowledge of jewelry terminology, metals, gemstones, repairs, special orders, custom-design stages, and production timelines
- Working knowledge of inventory controls, point-of-sale systems, cash controls, visual merchandising, loss prevention, and retail performance measures
- Strong organization, communication, judgment, and follow-through
- Ability to work confidently and collaboratively in a founder-led business
- Availability to work an on-site retail schedule, including weekends, events, and peak periods
Experience with Shopify, e-commerce platforms, inventory systems, scheduling tools, and Google Workspace is strongly preferred.
Compensation
The base salary range is $65,000 to $85,000, depending on the candidate’s directly related jewelry experience and ability to take on broader operational responsibilities.
The position is also eligible for:
- 1% commission on personally generated sales
- Performance bonus opportunity
- Compensation and performance review after six months
Candidates with strong fine or custom jewelry management experience, financial and operational knowledge, and the ability to manage the store with limited oversight may be considered at the higher end of the range.
