What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vet Assistant/Cremation Specialist, Transporter and PawBearer position at Angel's Paws?
Angel’s Paws offers amazing end of life care to very grateful pets and their parents. We have openings for veterinary assistants to assist in all aspects of end of life care, from connecting with families during that very first phone call, through the return of their beloved pets ashes to their home and everything in between. Angel’s Paws provides a special level of care in this process that assures the pet parent that their pet is being treated with dignity, love, and respect the entire time they are in our care. They stay snuggled in a warm blanket and pillow until time for their cremation. We do not have any freezers on our property.

We need your talents to…
- Coordinate support services that will provide a beautiful and dignified transition experience for pets and their families
- Offer emotional support to people who consider their pets family
- Perform high quality, private, cremation services (training provided)
- Transport pets lovingly from their homes into our care with compassion and dignity
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving record and willingness to drive company car
- The ability to occasionally lift heavy pets (some up to 200 lbs with assistance of another person and or equipment)
- Opportunity to learn how to schedule clinical appointments and aftercare wishes
- Computer literacy and willingness to use company software
- Create personalized memorial packages for pets in our care
- Schedule and host chapel returns
- Play an integral role in managing the information flow between our clients and staff
- Manage email flow and incoming faxes, coordinating among clients, our staff and partnering veterinary hospitals
- Assist families in selecting the perfect urn or memento they can cherish
The successful candidate will be:
- Compassionate and detail oriented
- Have the ability to work independently and as a team player
- Someone who maintains a high level of compassion and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Someone with the ability to do light maintenance, building and equipment repair a plus
Schedule:
- Full-time, Second shift 10 hour workdays 11am-9pm
- Two shift schedules: Sunday through Wednesday OR Wednesday through Saturday on a rotating 4/3 schedule resulting in 3 days off one week and 4 days off the next.
