Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Resident Advisor role located in Willis, TX. The Resident Advisor will provide mentorship, support, and guidance to residents, helping them build life skills and achieve personal growth. Responsibilities include daily interaction with residents, maintaining a safe and supportive living environment, enforcing community rules, planning and facilitating activities, and assisting residents with accessing resources for education, employment, and housing. The role also requires collaboration with other staff members to ensure the needs of the residents are effectively addressed.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, mentorship, and communication skills to build trusting relationships with residents.
- Ability to effectively manage and resolve conflicts, while enforcing program rules and maintaining a positive environment.
- Organizational and scheduling skills to plan activities and oversee residents' progress in life skill development.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and compassionately.
- Experience working with vulnerable youth, foster care, or similar populations is highly preferred.
- Basic computer and documentation skills, including proficiency in communication and record-keeping software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is a plus.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
