Job Overview

A Children’s Musical Theatre Group in Waltham is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Musical Theatre Teacher & Director to lead and inspire young performers ages 6–14.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in musical theatre performance and production, who is passionate about helping children build confidence, creativity, and stage presence in a fun and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach musical theatre to students ages 6–14
  • Direct and rehearse musical theatre productions
  • Lead students in acting, stage performance, and ensemble work
  • Help students develop confidence, expression, and performance skills
  • Create an engaging, encouraging, and age-appropriate learning environment
  • Collaborate on show preparation and performance readiness

Qualifications

  • Strong background in musical theatre
  • Experience rehearsing and performing in musical productions
  • Experience working with children and young performers
  • Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate students
  • Strong communication, leadership, and classroom management skills
  • Directing and/or teaching experience preferred

Compensation

  • $60–$80 per hour, based on experience
