What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adoption Transport and Placement Coordinator position at Angel of Hope Animal Rescue?
Angel of Hope Animal Rescue is seeking a reliable, organized, and animal-loving individual to help prepare and transport foster cats to our partner adoption centers.
This role is essential to helping our cats get seen, adopted, and placed into loving homes. The right candidate will ensure each cat is fully prepared for adoption and safely transported with all required documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport foster cats to designated adoption centers in a safe and timely manner
- Pick up cats from adoption centers as needed, including returns, medical needs, or transfers
- Prepare and organize adoption packets, including:
- Adoption applications
- Medical and vaccination records
- Spay/neuter documentation
- Create and attach cage cards that showcase each cat’s personality and story to potential adopters
- Ensure all cats are properly labeled, documented, and adoption-ready prior to placement
- Coordinate with foster homes, program staff, and adoption centers to determine what cats are ready and able to move into adoption centers
- Assist with Intake of pets
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport carriers and supplies
- Clean and sanitize carriers after each transport to ensure animal health and safety
- Clean and maintain the transport vehicle/van as needed
- Assist with occasional pick-ups, or transfers as needed
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Comfortable handling cats of all temperaments
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (rescue vehicle may be provided if available)
- Basic computer skills for managing records and documents
- Passion for animal welfare and rescue work
- Able to lift 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with animals, shelters, or rescues
- Familiarity with veterinary records or adoption processes
- Experience in customer service or administrative roles
Schedule
- 32-40 hours (flexible hours based on transport and adoption center needs)
- Current schedule thoughts are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Compensation
- Hourly position: $15–$20/hour, depending on experience
- You will be using our cargo van for transport
