Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures across hybrid cloud environments.
- Lead network integration and migration efforts from on-premises to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST guidelines.
- Configure and manage VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network gateways.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain network security controls and incident response plans.
- Automate network provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Stay current with emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements.
- 5 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with AWS networking services (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, etc.).
- Experience with Azure and/or GCP networking components is a plus.
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF)
- Proficiency in network security practices and tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls, VPNs).
- Experience working with federal agencies and securing FISMA Moderate/High systems.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
