Role Description
This is a part-time with the ability to move uo to full-time, on-site role based in Gainesville, FL, for a Residential Advocate. The Residential Advocate will provide day-to-day support to residents of Anew’s safe home, ensuring their safety, emotional well-being, and daily needs are met. Responsibilities include assisting with basic care tasks, maintaining a secure environment, providing emotional support, facilitating daily routines, and promoting life skills development. The role requires collaboration with team members to foster a positive and nurturing environment for survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation.
Qualifications
- Empathy, active listening, and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for survivors
- Organization and time management capabilities for facilitating daily activities
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Experience working in social services, trauma-informed care, or related fields is preferred
- Knowledge of issues related to human trafficking and trauma recovery is a plus
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in social work, psychology, or related fields are beneficial
- Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver’s license
