Overview:
The Group Therapist is a mental health professional responsible for delivering high-quality group psychotherapy as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team at Anew Treatment Center. Working under the supervision of a licensed clinical provider or independently (if fully licensed), the Group Therapist facilitates therapeutic group sessions to support clients in addressing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and co-occurring disorders. The Group Therapist collaborates with clients and colleagues to foster a supportive, inclusive environment, guiding individuals toward mental health stability and personal growth through evidence-based practices. This position offers the flexibility to work part-time or full-time based on organizational needs and candidate availability.

- Pay: Ranging from $32.00 - $45.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and licensure status)
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate high-quality group therapy sessions, restoring, preserving, and strengthening clients’ mental health by addressing stressors, teaching coping techniques, and promoting healthy interpersonal dynamics.
- Manage a group therapy caseload as determined by the Clinical Director, tailoring sessions to meet the diverse needs of group participants.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide coverage as needed, ensuring continuity of care for clients’ clinical needs.
- Participate in clinical meetings, trainings, supervisions, outreach, public-speaking events, and staff meetings as assigned.
- Conduct and contribute to client assessments at admission and reassessments as required, integrating findings into group therapy planning where applicable.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, group session summaries, treatment plan updates, and support for auxiliary staff with documentation needs.
- Attend weekly individual or group supervision as directed by licensure status or Clinical Director.
- Actively engage in the therapeutic milieu, proactively addressing group dynamics and emergent issues to support the day-to-day clinical program, while modeling healthy habits that encourage a lifestyle conducive to mental wellness.
- Adhere to Anew policies and procedures, professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentiality; ensure compliance with company and HIPAA policies.
- Model appropriate interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, and boundaries, addressing group-specific challenges such as conflict, trauma triggers, or disengagement through tailored interventions.
- Demonstrate awareness and respect for cultural, lifestyle, age, gender, and sexual orientation diversities of clients and staff; apply knowledge of age, gender, and multi-cultural counseling skills to group settings.
Qualifications:
- Associate license (e.g., LAC, LMSW, LPC, LAMFT) or fully licensed PhD, PsyD, LPC, LMFT, or LCSW; candidates may work under supervision or independently if fully licensed.
- Maintain specific, required, current, and active licensure, registration, or certification in good standing.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and auto insurance.
- Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check.
- Strong group facilitation skills and adaptability to dynamic group settings are essential.
