What are the responsibilities and job description for the ARMHS Practitioner position at ANEW Chemical Health Services?

At ANEW, our ARMHS Practitioners play a vital role in supporting adults living with mental health diagnoses as they work toward greater independence, stability, and personal growth. What You’ll Do

As an ARMHS Practitioner, you will provide individualized, strengths-based mental health skills services focused on helping clients move forward in their recovery. You will:

  • Provide oneonone rehabilitative mental health services rooted in empowerment and client choice
  • Meet clients in their homes, community settings, or office locations (sessions typically 13 hours; up to 6 hours weekly depending on client needs)
  • Support clients in developing coping strategies and symptommanagement skills
  • Teach practical life skills such as communication, problemsolving, and stress management
  • Monitor progress and evaluate treatment effectiveness
  • Build strong, trusting therapeutic relationships grounded in respect and cultural sensitivity
  • Complete Functional Assessments, Individual Treatment Plans, progress notes, and required documentation
  • Participate in both individual and group clinical supervision
  • Utilize and grow clinical skills through Motivational Interviewing, ACT, DBT, IMR, and other evidencebased practices
  • Facilitate client groups and contribute to group development
  • Collaborate with case managers, mental health providers, medical teams, and community resources
  • Perform other duties as needed to support client success and program quality

You bring --

Eligibility as a Mental Health Practitioner under MN DHS criteria, meeting one of the following: a.) Work Experience Route:

  • 4,000 hours providing mental health or SUD services; or
  • At least 2,000 hours with weekly treatment supervision until the 4,000hour requirement is reached.

b.) Education Route:

Completion of 30 semester hours / 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and one of:

2,000 hours of qualifying experience;

  • Completion of a qualifying practicum/internship; or
  • Enrollment in a formal practicum as part of an undergraduate/graduate program in social work, psychology, or counseling. c.) Graduate Degree Route:
  • A master’s degree (or higher) in a behavioral sciences or related field.
  • Strong independence, time management, and initiative
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Cultural humility and sensitivity
  • A valid driver’s license, good driving record, auto insurance, and ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Experience contributing to treatment planning (preferred)
  • Foundational knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (preferred)
