What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at Andy Pac?
Andy Pac has been making heavy-duty packaging machinery. We also make all sorts of packaging equipment like cappers, coolers, conveyor systems, feed, and accumulation tables, and other custom. We primarily work with steel and stainless steel for our parts and framework. Our fabricator/welder will need to be able to follow blueprints and assembly instructions. Knowledge of the above machinery is a plus but not required. We are willing to train the right individual.
Essential Functions
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to layout
- Set up components to be welded based on requirements
- Operate grinders, torches, plasma cutters, box-brake and other welding related tools
- Be able to read a tape measure and micrometers
- Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations
- Operate regular forklifts (training will be included)
- Possibly road/travel work (not required)
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements
- Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery.
- Ability to work in conditions with marked changes in temperature & humidity.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Some experience with Mills and/or lathes is a plus but not required.
- 2 years of experience with TIG welders
- Able to work 40 OT as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
