What You'll Do
As a Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist, you will provide comprehensive hearing care while building trusted relationships with patients. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting hearing screenings and assessments within the scope of licensure.
- Recommending, fitting, programming, and adjusting hearing instruments based on each patient's unique needs.
- Educating patients and their families on hearing loss, hearing aid use, care, and maintenance.
- Providing follow-up care, troubleshooting, repairs, and ongoing support to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with audiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Staying current on advancements in hearing technology and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Current Maine licensure as a Hearing Instrument Specialist (or eligibility for licensure).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Experience fitting and programming hearing instruments is preferred.
- Ability to build lasting relationships with patients while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for helping people improve their communication, confidence, and overall quality of life.
