Job Overview:
A Mailroom Specialist Sorts and delivers incoming mail by department and employee to ensure timely distribution. They manage the incoming and outgoing mail within an organization. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently are crucial in this role. Additionally, Mailroom Specialists often ensure compliance with security and confidentiality policies related to sensitive mail and packages.
Schedule and Shift:
- Monday through Friday - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST
- Full-Time Onsite
- Overtime may be required
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages to appropriate departments or individuals.
- Process outgoing mail, ensuring accurate postage and timely dispatch.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing trackable mail.
- Operate mailroom equipment, including postage meters, mail sorters, and scanners.
- Assist in preparing bulk mailings, including folding, stuffing, and sealing envelopes.
- Ensure the mailroom is organized, clean, and safe at all times.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Collaborate with team members to improve mailroom processes and efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Mailroom Team Lead or Manager.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners.
Qualification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills/data entry
- Prior mail room experience preferred
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods
- Ability to make good decisions
- Organizational skills
- Flexible to handle different assignment
- Ability to learn multiple policies and procedures
