Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through cycle counting, investigating discrepancies, and assisting with inventory control procedures. This role plays a critical part in meeting supply chain objectives, managing inventory systems, and assessing and improving flows of supplies through the facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cycle counts of inventory in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
- Ensures documentation related to inventory flows is complete, accurate, and filed correctly.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, working with material handlers, purchasing, planning and production teams as needed.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and address gaps in inventory processes.
- Maintain accurate records of cycle counts, adjustments, and findings within Epicor and any additional software programs.
- Assist in root cause analysis of inventory errors and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure that inventory transactions are correctly recorded in EPICOR.
- Conduct audits of high-value or high variance items to maintain inventory integrity.
- Monitor and report on inventory accuracy and variances to management.
- Work with plant to organize inventory locations and maintain product identification.
- Help to establish procedures / workflows in functional areas.
- Support physical inventory and year-end audits as required.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Any additional tasks assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills - Required
Experience: 1-3 years of inventory control, warehouse, cycle counting experience in the manufacturing industry
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical Skills: Experience with ERP/MRP/MES and Microsoft excel, strong data entry / computer file maintenance skills
- Attention to detail: Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies accurately
- Analytical Thinking: Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills to investigate root cause of variances
- Communication Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with different departments, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for extended periods, and work in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to get certified for forklift operations.
- Ability to work under moderate supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in supply chain or related field.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning and inventory tracking systems.
- Knowledge of lean inventory management principles.
- Knowledge of Shipping and Receiving protocol.
- Basic understanding of production process flow and scheduling.
