Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive construction estimates for residential projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop accurate cost projections and detailed bid proposals.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate pricing and scope of work to optimize project budgets.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground data, assess construction site conditions, and verify project requirements.
- Manage cost control processes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets and identify potential savings opportunities.
- Review contracts, scope of work documents, and project plans to ensure clarity and alignment with project goals.
- Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that inform scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement strategies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating within residential or similar sectors; familiarity with residential building processes is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Bluebeam for document markup and collaboration; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is essential.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, contract review, and cost control strategies.
- Solid understanding of construction management principles, including site safety, scheduling, and quality assurance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
