Overview
We are seeking a versatile and proactive Part-Time Shop Floater to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various power and hand tools. As a Shop Floater, you will play a crucial role in supporting multiple departments, ensuring smooth operations across the shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Proficient in multiple stages of the powder coating process.
- Pre-treatment/Preparation: Cleaning, degreasing, masking, or sandblasting parts before coating.
- Hanging/Racking: Properly hanging parts on the conveyor line for coating.
- Powder Application: Operating manual or automatic powder coating guns, ensuring even coverage.
- Curing/Baking: Loading/unloading parts from ovens.
- Inspection/Quality Control: Checking finished parts for defects or proper coverage.
- Packaging/Shipping: Preparing completed parts for delivery.
- General Labor/Cleanup: Assisting with general shop maintenance, cleaning booths, or organizing materials.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery as needed.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to manufacturing processes and equipment operation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing facility or factory environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and assembly techniques is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with various departments.
